Painting to the music.
Making pictures to music makes the most sense.
In 2014, Kevin Russell came across some crayon drawings and small oil paintings I’d shared online to make my siblings laugh. He reached out through the webs to ask me about creating the album artwork for Shinyribs’ third record, Okra Candy. We met up at a Shinyribs show at the Saxon Pub in Austin and became pals who would go on to work together over and over in many forms. He sent me his unreleased songs and I immediately knew it was warm yellow.
One cool person trusted me, and that was it: I was hooked to freelance illustration. Thank you for hiring me to translate your sounds. It’s the best.
